What Tibet & Bhutan Taught Me About Healing

Sometimes, the greatest lessons don't come from books or business meetings. They come from stepping away from your everyday life and opening yourself to a completely different way of living.
This spring, I had the incredible opportunity to travel through Tibet, Nepal, and Bhutan. It was a journey that had been on my bucket list for many years.
I came home with a different perspective.
Looking Beyond Success
One of the things that touched me the most was the way people live in Bhutan.
Instead of constantly chasing more, there is a deep sense of community. People genuinely care for one another. Neighbors help neighbors. There is pride in preserving traditions, spending time together, and living with kindness.

It made me reflect on our own lives.
We often measure success by how busy we are, how much we accomplish, or how much we own. But during this journey, I was reminded that happiness can also come from connection, gratitude, and simply being present.
It was a beautiful observation that there are many different ways to live a meaningful life.
A Conversation I'll Never Forget
I met a young nun who was only eight years old. I asked her why she had chosen this life at such a young age.
Her answer surprised me.
She told me it was because she wanted to be part of a community that supports one another.
Such a simple answer, yet so powerful.
It reminded me that, no matter where we come from, we all want the same things: to belong, to feel supported, and to know that someone is walking beside us.
That is something I hope every person feels when they walk into my atelier.
The Power of Being Present
During the trip, I participated in blessing ceremonies, meditated in ancient monasteries, and spent quiet moments in places where monks have practiced for centuries.
The blessing ceremony at Drak Yerpa touched me deeply.

The chanting of the monks created a vibration that I could feel throughout my entire body. I remember receiving the blessing with water poured over my hands, a gentle touch on my head, and a ceremonial scarf placed around my neck.
This ceremony was about being fully present.
In our busy lives, we often forget to slow down. This experience reminded me how important it is to pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.
Giving More Than We Receive
Another unforgettable experience was hiking nearly three hours through the mountains. During the hike, we had the opportunity to raise Bhutanese prayer flags.

The five colors represent the elements of nature: blue for the sky, white for air, red for fire, green for water, and yellow for the earth. The flags are placed high in the mountains so the wind can carry their blessings across the land.
What moved me most was learning that these prayers are not only for ourselves. They are offered for all living beings, especially those who are struggling, sick, or in need of compassion.
Raising the flags reminded me that life is not only about what we receive. It is also about what we give back.
How This Journey Changed Me
People often ask me why I care so deeply about beauty restoration.
It’s because every person who comes to see me has their own story. Some have experienced cancer, alopecia, trichotillomania, trauma, or other life challenges. Others simply want to feel like themselves again.

This journey reminded me that healing looks different for everyone.
Sometimes it begins with kindness.
Sometimes it begins with community.
Sometimes it begins with hope.
And sometimes it begins with one small step toward feeling seen again.
Bringing These Lessons Home
My philosophy has always been a light touch and deep intentions, but this journey reminded me why that matters.
Every appointment is more than a treatment. It is an opportunity to create a calm, welcoming space where someone can slow down, feel understood, and reconnect with themselves.
Beauty restoration has never been only about restoring eyebrows. It is about restoring confidence, identity, and hope.
And after this journey, I feel even more grateful to be able to do that every day.
Thank you for following along on this journey with me.
With love,
Delphine
