VoyageATL & VoyageAustin: Conversations with Delphine Breyne, Rising Star of New York

I recently had the pleasure of speaking with both VoyageATL and VoyageAustin about my journey from France to New York, the risks I took to build Delphine Eyebrow Couture, and how my own experience with sparse eyebrows eventually became something much more meaningful.
Both conversations gave me a chance to look back at where I started and reflect on how much has changed along the way.
Here are a few highlights from the interviews.
VoyageATL: You grew up in a small town in France. What led you to leave everything behind and move to the United States?
Delphine Breyne: For 25 years, I had built a life in France that was comfortable and secure. I had a career in fashion, a home, family, friends, and a long-term relationship. From the outside, everything looked perfect, but inside I knew I still wanted something more.
Eventually, I decided to listen to that feeling. I left France with two suitcases and started again in the United States. It was scary, but I had a vision. Moving to New York taught me how important it is to trust your intuition, continue learning, and not be afraid to start over.
VoyageATL: Was building your own business always a smooth journey?
Delphine Breyne: Not at all. During COVID, I spent months looking for the space I had imagined for my atelier. I actually had a picture of that type of space on my vision board for years. When I finally found it, the rent was much more than I had planned to spend. I remember having to decide whether I wanted to continue playing it safe or truly believe in what I was trying to create. I took the risk. That space became Delphine Eyebrow Couture, and only a few months after opening, my work was recognized by Vogue and goop. It taught me that sometimes you have to trust the vision before you have proof that it will work.
VoyageAustin: How did your own experience with eyebrows influence the work you do today?
Delphine Breyne: I was born with naturally very sparse eyebrows, so I understood very early how something so small could affect confidence. When I discovered microblading, I wanted to understand everything about it. I trained across three continents and earned 24 certifications, but I kept feeling that many techniques were simply too much for the result I wanted. That is how my philosophy of “less is more” developed. Today, I approach every face individually. I never want someone to look transformed or overdone. I want their eyebrows to feel as though they have always belonged to them.
VoyageAustin: Has moving from France to New York and building your business changed you?
Delphine Breyne: Absolutely. One of the biggest lessons has been learning to trust myself.
Moving countries meant adapting to a new culture and rebuilding my life without knowing exactly where it would lead. Then opening my own business during COVID required another level of belief. Those experiences taught me discipline and patience, but they also taught me to stay true to myself. Even when trends change, my philosophy remains the same: less is more.
VoyageAustin: What makes beauty restoration so meaningful to you?
Delphine Breyne: Many of the people who come to me have experienced chemotherapy, alopecia, hormonal changes, aging, or another chapter that has changed the way they see themselves. In those moments, eyebrows can become about much more than beauty.
My goal is never to create a new person. It is to help someone look in the mirror and recognize themselves again.
That is what I mean when I say: a light touch with deep intention.
